About the Designer
Linda Wilson, NZ Style
Linda lives in Oamaru, a small rural / coastal town on the east coast of the South Island, New Zealand.
“I am most fortunate to have grown in and with beautiful New Zealand; my seed was sown here, and here I grow.”

First came the art work, which was adapted to rug size, to then became a rug.
Linda feels that in her surroundings, creative inspiration for her rugs is but a moment away.
Linda had been working with textile mosaics as a hobby for a number of years; sourcing her carpet off-cuts for her unique craft from Summit Wool Spinners.
Whilst researching this craft; Linda discovered that there was a very limited number of New Zealand-designed carpet and rugs being offered worldwide.
She decided that New Zealand wool had 'come of age'. Now is the time to claim not only one of the very best wools in the world - but perhaps promote the very best of New Zealand design as well.
Linda plans to encourage talented New Zealand artists to submit designs to NZ Style that may be suitable for textile adaptation - offering artists a unique option for their creative design within a niche market.
Working as an independent Garden Designer for eighteen years, Linda and the family created a garden centre on the property which Linda operated for nine years - seven days a week. The retail side of the business eventually fazed out; leaving the large formal garden as a venue for weddings and other functions.
Linda is now busy with this exciting new textile venture, maintaining her garden, conducting quarry tours and arranging garden events. In addition, she has a long standing involvement in Stone sculpting Symposium for the town, and is running a self contained home-stay unit on the property.
Linda and her husband Bob‘s home is situated in the sheep and crop fields surrounding their home at Parkside, North Otago. They have been living, working and have raised four beautiful children here over the last twenty-seven years.
Bob is involved in running Parkside Limestone Quarries, also a major part of the property. These quarries supply agricultural lime from the on-site Parkside Limeworks and are the sole New Zealand suppliers of the renowned Oamaru building stone known as Oamaru Stone.

Bob and Linda's property grazes sheep growing wool suitable for carpeting.
The property grazes a sizable number of sheep growing wool suitable for carpeting.
The wool is removed from the sheep before lambing and the hotter months. This is carried-out in the farm's 130 year old shearing shed and yards.
The baled wool is sold directly to Oamaru's Summit Wool Spinners where it is processed into quality carpet yarn.
